Looe music festival takes place between 29th of September and October 1st. If you’re worried about the weather have a look at this video of Looe seafront with Tankus the Henge playing in the background at the Adrenaline Quarry Marquee. There have been some big headliners at Looe in the past and this year Jools Holland with his rhythm and blues orchestra will be headlining, as well as The Proclaimers, The Blockheads and From The Style Council.
Very often the buskers, such as The Phatt Bollards are worth travelling to hear. The Phatt Bollards are a kind of Cornish folk/gypsy protest group who sometimes get a little bit carried away with naughty words but they are so engaging, and their songs are often so apt that the odd eff word really seems not to matter very much. They have apparently recently recorded one of their songs without the eff word especially so that Tom Robinson can play it on BBC 6 Live!
On the right is some footage from Looe 2013, a very funny song about Cornwall.
Last year we saw fantastic performances from Seth Lakeman and Wilko Johnson, and in 2015 Jules Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.
