Cornwall is a fantastic place for classic car enthusiasts because people seem to keep hold of things long after they became museum pieces everywhere else.

 

Mal came home one day in a state of high jublation such as you would expect to see after some mystic experience, a bit like how you might imagine Bernadette was when she saw the BVM and invented Lourdes. The reason for this exalted state? He'd been parked next to a Lagonda in the petrol station! 

(For the heathens among you BVM stands for Blessed Virgin Mary and is not an abbreviation for a car, at least not so far as I know!) 

 

Last year we discovered Truro Motor Club hold a series of Classic Hill Climb events at Tregrehan Park. It was amazng to see so many classc cars competing and believe me a hill climb in Cornwall is not a jog in the park.

 

Probably the car I would defiinitely buy if I won the lottery is the Peterson Embrico Bentley which we saw at the Pentllie Festival of speed. There are two reasons why this will never happen; a) I don't do the lottery because it seems like an act of desperation, in fact the only thing more desperate than doing it  is checking the numbers and finding that you haven't won. b)So far as I'm aware there is only the one so a lottery win wouldn't be enough!

 

Anyway in the absence of a lottery win we linger awhile and look!
